American Truck Simulator

Hey everyone how’s it going? today I wanna talk to you about one of my favorite simulator games called American Truck Simulator. ATS is a fun and what I consider a very close to real life simulator even though I’ve never driven an 18 wheeler in real life I can assume that this game is as close to the real thing as possible.

ATS lets you live the dream of traveling while hauling a heavy load as you work on bringing your company up in status, yes that’s right at the start of the game while you’re making your profile and selecting from the generic driver pics you also get to create and bring to life your very own company. After this step, the game takes you through a basic tutorial of the display area telling you to press button after button so you can get a feel for what they do and also look at the important information provided to you with each trip. after the tutorial is completed you are graced with a small cut scene showing you your headquarters and letting you get right to work taking contracts from other companies so you can make money and hopefully be able to buy your own truck.

now onto the controls as you would imagine this game is out only on pc right now so you get a variety of control options there’s the basic mouse and keyboard which offers a button for every function available on an actual truck so a certain degree, of course, you have 2 different type’s of horns available to you as well as the regular breaks and air breaks as well as the trucks retarder system which I admit I have no clue what that system does since I just use the basic automatic tranny. you can also plug in an Xbox controller and use that with all the basic buttons to get your truck moving as well as the lights and turn signals and map access, for more advanced options there’s the option to plug in the steering wheel with foot pedals and shifter options which sadly I haven’t tried that since those wheel’s i find to expensive but if anyone has played the game with one let me know how it feels would love someones input.

so the map for ATS isn’t as big as you would expect considering the game takes place in America the game launched with the state of California as the base game and area to explore and then slowly the devs have been adding more to the game they added the state of Nevada, Arizona and last year they added New Mexico to the game so now you have plenty of more miles to explore and take your epic truck along the way.

onto the trucks sadly I guess America doesn’t have many truck manufacturers since you only get the options between the peter builts and the Kenworth trucks with there usual variety which I find very disappointing having played both of there truck sims I feel this game is slower in getting the love and content then there other game has.

All in all American truck simulator is a great game very fun and relaxing as you rise with your company and work on hiring more people and buying more trucks as you continue to explore the great map and feeling the real-life fatigue and traffic violations if you wanna get caught by the cop’s lol. I truly recommend the game if you love simulation games and driving games then I highly recommend American Truck Simulator as it’s a great game to just sit back and relax thank you for stopping by have a great day.

2019

Finally 2019 has arrived and many new games are set to release and even though I wish I could buy them all I know I can’t but the ones I am aiming for is mainly anthem.

Yes you read that write i am looking forward to anthem after spending hundreds of hours on destiny and dealing with always paying for extra shit that should have been in the base game nothing anthem throws my way will surprise me.

I did play the preview alpha and man was it epic I admit the flying will probably be the hardest thing for me on mouse n keyboard since the sensitivity was very high during alpha but I’m sure I’ll get used to it with time. As for all of EA’s antics it’s been reported by the lead designer that loot boxes will not be in the game which I’m all for as I think there really pointless I dont mind paying for an awesome skin like fortnite does but I’m glad loot boxes will be kept away from the game.

What I love about the game is the javelins and how they really make me feel like im flying in an iron man suit to go destroy some monster booty.

Its 2019 guys what games are all of you looking forward to let me know

Raids in a game

Hello everyone hows it going? Hope everyone had a fun and safe new year and to commemorate the first blog post of the year I wanted to talk about Raids. Now if your into online games like world of warcraft and final fantasy 14 then you know that games similar to this style offer end game content, and by that I mean content that unlocks after you complete the story of the game this is where most people have fun and meet others to play with if they haven’t already made there friends along the way.

But what is raid? They differ from game to game in style and appearance but deep down there all the same, A raid is a special end game area where that hardest monsters and bosses reside as well as the best loot in the game, a raid is made of many rooms and each room having it’s own mechanic to progress or it’s own boss fight to open up the door.

Raids not only vary in size and difficulty but as well as how many players can enter the raid at one time for instance many of wow’s old raids had 20 people going in and working together to defeat the bosses. In final fantasy 14 when I played and reached the end game areas raids were made of 8 players total until a new raid was brought in which the name eludes me that had a player cap of 24 I think it was then theres games like destiny where end game raids are fought in 6 man teams. Now I’m not sure for wow since I never made it that far but in final fantasy almost everyone got to do raids simply for 1 reason and that was match making which thankfully helped out many players who were either socially awkward or were solo players. I cant speak for wow but I know destiny doesnt have match making and it has been a feature that many in the community have wanted and I cant blame them as not everyone is great at meeting new people and making friends.

I’ve done my fair share or raids in final fantasy and destiny and yes there time consuming and make you work to figure out the next step but I feel that if final fantasy can make an awesome match making system to do raids then I feel other companies should do the same cause there is no better learning experience then actually going out to do a raid, I mean yes you could go watch a video but I feel that watching a video and actually experiencing the raid leave different impacts on you as it’s easier to learn from your mistakes then it is to copy what someone else does down to the second. The one thing I loved in final fantasy was you hit the lvl cap you had the best gear equipped and went and did the raid you didnt need to worry about if you did enough damage for the simple fact everyone knew that as long as the Tank had the bosses full attention you let loose on him in destiny it’s not like that for the simple fact that as new weapons are discovered and brought into the game the meta keeps changing but that I feel is a handy cap and forces players to demand that others have this or that and I feel that isn’t fair.

I understand though why some systems work better for one raid and not another but I feel if companies worked on a match making system that could detect and match veteran raiders with newer raiders it would be a win win for everyone I personally have a very hard time meeting new people making friends and even tho it hasn’t gotten easier I do my best but I’m sure others are worse and I do hope that one day raids will be made easier to access for everyone thank you all and have a great day

Rainbow 6 Siege

Man this is a game I have history with as well as a love hate relationship but will remain as one of my most favorite games I have ever played.

I first experienced Siege during their alpha testing and being new to the search and destroy 1 life method it took me a bit to get the train rolling. After that I took part in the beta then all was silent. I admit I lost track of the game with other releases at the time and am pretty sure destiny was sucking away my soul during that time period. Then boom rainbow 6 siege released I wasn’t able to purchase it right away due to financial issues but I waited about 3 months after release. I bought the game on PS4 and slowly worked into learning everything I could from it. I remember dying time after time, again and again, getting discouraged but I didn’t give up. I worked hard and saved my Renown until I could purchase my first operator and then the grind continued.

When siege launched it had 11 maps and considering how much work went into each map I gotta say it’s really impressive. You see there are maps that go from 3 to 4 floors and about 85% of each map can be destroyed. Don’t quote me as it’s just a rough guess but the fact that you had windows, wooden door barricades and steel wall reinforcements you had a great amount of destruction per map.

But siege didn take off right away and many thought it was another failure for ubisoft who at the time was fighting against a hostile take over but that didn’t stop the development team as the season pass promised plenty of goodies. Each season added 1 new map and 2 new operators. 1 on each side of attack and defend and the fact was the team was pouring everything into this game which you can see from the maps alone how much work goes into them.

I remember putting hours into the game, grinding away, leveling up in a system that seems to have infinite levels cause even to this day I’ve seen players pass the 270 level mark and going and my dedication didn’t stop there. There was a time where online mode couldn’t be accessed on ps4 to play so I bought the game again l. This time on my xbox 1 and grinded away again since I knew what I was doing it was much easier to attack and defend. Many rounds I would walk away with an ace and for those that don’t know an ace is when you kill all 5 players on the opposing team by yourself. The sad part though is I never got any hate mail from other people. I grinded on xbox until level 76 then I ended up selling my xbox and went back onto my ps4 to grind some more.

Year 2 arrived and with it a new season pass, more maps, and operators and the best part of all this is if you didn’t have the money for the season pass and didn’t mind grinding many hours you could buy the operators with the ingame currency which is one reason I loved siege so much. It didn’t force you to buy a season pass. Ubisoft really made a great game. By year 2 the game was already rolling with plenty of traction as rainbow 6 siege had it’s own esport league.

But siege was failing, becoming plagued by the things that plague every online only game: cheaters and toxic players. And it wasn’t in small doses either. People team killing or instantly knowing where you were really made ubisoft think of how to save their game. By this time I had made the official jump from console to PC and yes I had bought siege for the 3rd time. And the community toxicity was bad there to and even worse the ingame chat was there for all to see which was both an awesome feature and a curse as trolls used this to piss people off and blatantly saying they would TK you at the start of the round.

Now don’t let that scare you away. Ubisoft has been hard at work since the games release fixing it and implementing ways to keep games clean as well as eliminating as much toxicity as they could but I still feel they need to implement a better way of reporting people and actually showing that something was done with the report filed.

This game I have loved and hated for a long time and my experience across 3 different platforms really didn’t change much after sinking close to 1000 hours into the game. I had finally called it quits simply put I couldn’t handle how toxic the game had become. Don’t let my words scare you away the game is still a great game and I still have plenty of friends that play the game and maybe one day soon I’ll return to the game and try to enjoy it again. Thank you and have a great day.

AER Memories of Old

Hello everyone hows it going today we talk about AER Memories of Old, this game has been in my library for a few months now so I decided to play it to try and make a dent to my backlog I admit I didnt know what to expect I dont play very many indy games since they never really catch my attention but I made sure to go into the game as open minded as possible and to finish it and man the game really made me love it I also admit that most of the story of the game left me a bit lost since it’s not really talked about much.

The story of air I will do my best to explain it from the segments I saw of it. You play a human girl named Auk who sets out on a pilgrimage to save the world from the impending evil like most games you have no idea what evil is chasing you or how to defeat it.

The game opens with you and your grandfather exploring a cave where you find a mythical lamp after saying a prayer to the lamp nothing happens so you turn away to leave as you do the lamp lights up and floats to you after it floats to you the cave your in starts to collapse making you run to the exit once outside your grandfather is waiting for you relieved that you made it out safe and sound he tells you where to go that he will catch up to you officially setting you off on your journey.

Now this little area introduces you to my favorite aspect of the game… Flying, yes you read that right flying you see your character Auk is a shape shifter with the power to transform into a truly majestic eagle at least I think it’s an eagle might be a falcon dont quote me on it lol as you take off you see the beautiful world open up around you flying high in the sky as you see floating islands and clouds everywhere my favorite part is the fact you can fly through the clouds which just adds to the fun of being able to fly and I will admit there where times where I wanted to forget the game and just fly around the map enjoying everything since not many games let you transform to an animal and fly around.

So after you learn to fly you make your way to the settlement the little area where the rest of the humans are waiting there also the ones talked with helping you on the way to complete your pilgrimage and seeing as theres no waypoints in the game you have to make sure you remember all the key details of what they say so when you leave the settlement you can fly away to continue.

The art style for this game reminds me of journey a calm relaxing game with amazing music that’s what memories of old delivers and it only gets better as you progress through the story.

Now the story is a bit weird it takes place in a dying world after the great divide where land was shattered and sent floating to the sky the gods who were charged with watching over the land disappeared no reason no clues nothing explaining why but it’s your job to find out what’s going on by finding 3 temples hidden around the world where more mysteries and questions await you see each temple has a guardian tasked by the goddess karah with protecting a stone fragment which our player needs to make there way to the end and it happens that these guardians are also gods who only connection to the world is the key fragment which once you take they disappear after the first fragment is where you get the glimpse of the evil that awaits you as you only see a pair of glowing red eyes walking towards you.

This game offers lots to explore which I sadly admit didnt do any exploring as I wanted nothing more then to figure out the story and what happened and why, now this game i promise you is not religious in any sense at all even tho one would probably think it was with the game talking about a creator and life being born from his actions but I for one never found any religious acknowledgements in the game.

Later on as you keep progressing more of the story is found as many areas have stone tablets with writing on it that talks about the past you will also see some white floating symbols if you approach them with the lamp turned on they show human sillouets and many of them will be accompanied by some writing giving some small details to either the area or of things happening to the world of humans.

This game has a big story hidden in the world and it’s worth playing and exploring to find what is going on and what happened if your into indy games and love to explore then this game is for you I was left blown away with this game and ending that left me with so many questions and I hope that you give this gem a try thank you everyone and have a nice day.

Humble Bundle

Hey guys today I wanted to talk to you about humble bundle. A great place to get games for your steam library but humble isn’t just games no there’s much much more.

I first discovered humble bundle from one of the Facebook groups I’m in. Being new to the PC world at the time I decided to check them out and explore what they offered that steam didn’t.

Most of their discounts in the store line up close to the steam store but that’s not where humble bundle shines. Nope their biggest and best feature is their bundle section and their monthly subscription.

You see humble bundles monthly subscription is pretty awesome for $12 a month you get a small bundle of games. The way it works is you get 2 or 3 titles at the start of the month and then after the month is finished you get anywhere between 4 to 7 random keys of games from steam. Now these let’s call them monthly bundles range in price from $130 upwards close to $200 in game keys ranging between some good triple A titles and some hidden indy gems. Every month a new random cycle and the best part.. you’re only paying 12 bucks for such a huge amount of games price wise and that is a good bang for the buck. The best part ie you can cancel any time. They also offer a 6 month subscription and a full year as well.

The next place that humble shines is their random bundles that they drop which happens randomly so you don’t know what will be in them till they drop. These bundles are called tier bundles. They offer 3 tiers of products, each tier at a set price. The best part is if you buy tier 3 at $20 you get everything that’s included in tiers 1 and 2. These bundles are awesome because they’re not limited to games. They offer books as well as programs ranging from security programs to editing programs. They even offer digital books for people trying to learn coding. The tier bundles are always different and sometimes they offer amazing deals at super low prices.

The last part I’ve noticed that makes humble a great place is being able to donate to charity. You see at some point during check out humble lets’ you put part of the money you’re spending to the charity at the time with no extra cost to you and that is awesome knowing they are working hard to help everyone out, which in my book makes humble bundle worth it. So if you are a gamer on PC or want a great deal on computer programs that range then check out humble bundle. I’ll provide my partner link below. Enjoy everyone and have a great day.

The Nintendo Switch

Announced to the world in October of 2016 nintendos new console had a lot of work to do to compete against the playstation 4 and the xbox 1 what shocked many when nintendo introduced this console was the support of the industry’s big names as the trailer of games flashed some big names stuck out mainly skyrim it was insane to see a huge title on a nintendo platform fast forward to March 3 2017 and the unit went on sale at the time I couldn’t afford one I played the waiting game.

I’ve owned my switch now for maybe close to 6 months give or take a few days and I gotta say I am blown away by how awesome this little power house is taking home console and combining it with handheld you have truly the best gaming experience in my opinion the fact that the switch has some great games to go with it from Mario odyssey to L.A noire, skyrim and recently pokemon let’s go pikachu and eevee to name a few and nintendo also has a few popular free to play titles from paladins to the highly loved fortnite to the recently released warframe nintendo has truly hit a grand slam with the switch.

Now I know theres a million professional reviews out there but that’s what they are professionals guys who will nitpick at any small issue they find me no I admit the switch has 3 issues that I have found and hope that if nintendo ever launches a revamp of the switch or a switch 2 that these things are fixed, first is the battery life when you play in handheld mode depending on the game as well as how long you play I feel the battery drains to fast with normal brightness on skyrim I’ve gotten a solid half a day of play mileage may vary per user I hope they can manage to add a battery that could give us a full day of usage since I have yet to find a decent accessory that adds battery life to it and the official battery packs that nintendo suggest are a bit premium in price. Next is the screen a small 6.2 inch lcd screen that I’m sure isn’t an issue to many since most cell phones offer that size screen the only issue I had screen wise was that certain areas of gameplay from skyrim I would max out the brightness and even then it was still dark in cave areas I hope theres a better screen that could keep price the same but offer better brightness and lastly is storage the switch comes built in with 32gb of storage which honestly isn’t a lot especially if you have a big collection of games now the specs say you can add up to a 2tb micro sd card for storage but I haven’t seen one of those and I’m sure they will cost a kidney in my switch I’m using a 128gb micro sd and so far for the 4 games I have installed it’s more then enough but I’m sure others will need more and hopefully Nintendo finds a way to add more storage and keep cost close to the same.

Now onto what makes me love the switch I grew up playing the original nintendo so at heart I’ll always love nintendo products and the switch is no exception it brings a dock which both charges the device and enables it so you can play on the connected tv in case the small screen is hurting your eyes or it needs charging but you dont wanna stop playing your game as for me my love lies with the handheld mode you dont realize how awesome it is to have a full blown console with amazing games at your hand and not worry about anything else well except maybe the battery. Nintendo truly nailed this concept I cant stress it enough i like to take mine around the house as well as the balcony to play it’s nice to have something other then my phone to play on.

For anyone wanting to buy the nintendo switch do so it’s an awesome experience if your a fan of zelda and pokemon the switch will have your back and if you just need something more mobile to keep the kids entertained on a trip well this has your back also thank you everyone for stopping by and have a great day

Activision Un-Happy

Hey everyone hows it going? So recently Activision released a statement about how they are unhappy with the way destiny 2 was performing sales wise which I can understand. You invest a 10 year, 500 million dollar contract you expect a good return in profits. But it makes me wonder how much say does Activision really have with the development timeline of the games they’re gonna publish or better yet who is at fault here for the game not selling so well? Is it big brother Activision who was standing over bungie’s shoulder and watching their every move or was it bungie who from the first destiny didn’t learn and kept making the same mistakes? That is the real question. I’ve been playing destiny since the Alpha days, the first game launched for ps4, ps3, the 360 and Xbox 1 to which I think it had a great variety except the fact that it left out a huge crowd, the PC gamers. Now to many, myself included, the first destiny was decent but it really didn’t feel like there was a story to it until all the DLC started releasing and the game didn’t pick up momentum. Fast forward 3 years and Destiny 2 releases previews of a great story and more content and the best part a PC release. Awesome even though PC had to wait an extra month. Now Activision stated that they weren’t happy with sales figures but didn’t disclose just where the margins were. I mean for all we know that margin can be 3 pennies short of their expectations. Now I feel bungie either needs more staff or needs to schedule there content production a bit better. The base game is a great story in my opinion, the end content was a bit lacking until the raid was released. Then the journey of the great leviathan was born, a massive space colony (cause I can’t call it a ship) holding emperor claus as the main boss. It had great mechanics but not a fault for its sales in my opinion. Here is where I feel Activision pushed bungie to hurry the dlc out the door, destiny 2 first dlc the curse of osiris takes us back to mercury to explore a new enemy area called the infinite forest home to a race of robots called the vex. Now when I first played this I loved the story behind it and I truly loved the idea behind the forest, basically a massive super hub that channeled every time line in vex (alien robots) existence but the story was short, the content was over to fast, the boss fight was to say crap you had your hand held the whole fight he could have been a raid boss even. Then comes the raid. Instead of making the raid for the dlc it’s own thing no they turned it into a lair for the leviathan which I feel was bungie’s first mistake. They have this awesome infinite forest that can literally give the player days of content, if they would go back to it instead of it just sitting there collecting dust. I feel both Activision and the pressure from their fan base hurt this dlc majorly. The second dlc called the warmind which had players returning to a different area of Mars to save rasputin from the hive wasn’t any better. The players enemy this time was some frozen hive and a big bad worm god who again could have made an epic raid boss fight but no they made him a basic boss battle and added another lair to the leviathan with a cabal boss as the main enemy. This time a new raid that has nothing to do with the story for the dlc again either pressure from fans or big brother Activision the dlc failed and the only fun activity it gave players were the escalation protocols which task players with surviving 7 rounds or enemies for any type of rewards. Fast forward a year and boom another dlc this time forsaken promises to change everything about destiny and give players an area that evolves every week after reset and guess what? Bungie delivered an epic DLC. A big area to explore, new enemies to battle in the form of the scorn, and an amazing story of loss, betrayal, and vengeance. My only quirk with the story was the vengeance part felt a bit empty in my opinion, now the raid, the dreaming city is huge and delivers a kick ass experience for people. The race to worlds first was beyond intense. Forsaken did for destiny 2 what taken king did for the first game, gave it life only this time players only waited 1 year instead of 2. Activision is worrying about the money the game is bringing in but was it the right choice as a publishe. You have a game that is essentially an mmo with fps aspects and I feel that Activision doesn’t understand the pressure that bungie has put themselves in with their game. I feel blizzard would have been a better option since they have wow. The next content drop for destiny is supposed to be in december with the black armory, I feel if bungie had offered both forsaken and this forsaken annual pass at a better price it would have been an easier pill for people to swallow so Activision help out bungie and stop worrying about the money for 2 seconds cause I bet you anything if bungie went back to the infinite forest like they did for Halloween and started giving it more content people would be happier and you would get your money back by bringing in more people. I also hope that for the next destiny bungie goes a bit darker with the story and gives us a game that’s bigger then d2 and all its DLC cause I feel taking destiny down a dark road would honestly help it out instead of always making us be the good guys. Activision sit back and open your eyes. The lore that destiny has created has basically surpassed your 10 year content contract. There is so much left to discover, to show off, to engage. So many stories to explore, so much to do. Stop being business and start thinking about your consumers cause in the end we buy your games, we play them, and we do better than any commercial or advertisement you can put out. People will take the word of a gamer over anyone else. Don’t pull the plug on destiny. Sit back, relax, and help bungie cause destiny is here to stay even with the repeat errors d2 made. I for one can’t wait till the next game releases and I hope we get more options, new enemies, more lore so who cares about the money worry about keeping your customers happy cause without us you don’t get paid. Have a nice day.
