Bungie after Activision
So it’s been a while now since bungie brought destiny 2 and turned it free to play on steam and consoles alike and I gotta say the game is doing better now then it ever did.
Now why is that I mean were Activision really choking the life out of bungies IP and trying to destroy it or were they out for money and didn’t care what got ruined short answer yes and yes.
Bungie and destiny have been on steam for about 2 months and it has had more amazing numbers thanks to its free to play approach has really given people plenty to play as you get everything before the massive forsaken expansion for free and I mean that’s a huge amount of content as well as an amazing story because the destiny 2 story truly is amazing, and I feel the more people experience this the better.
Now I’m grateful Activision didnt want anything to do with destiny after the companies parted ways and I’m glad bungie is doing there best to keep the game going and keep it interesting with the season passes and the fact that it seems bungie finally realizes that the infinite forest is literally a gold mine waiting to be explored as the recent season gave us back the great and mighty Saint-14.
But destiny is proof that if it’s not call of duty Activision doesnt want jack shit to do with it and in my opinion companies should lean toward blizzard since they have experience with mmo/rpgs since they have world of warcraft and diablo hell they even kicked ass with overwatch but activision is to stuck on the cod train, or honestly maybe companies should do like digital extremes and take the risk and publish there own game.
I look forward to what the future holds for destiny and bungie and I hope they listen more to there fans and work better with all the parts of there community.
Thank you all for stopping by and game on
Bungie Activision split
Yes you read that right and it’s pretty much the talk of the town bungie announced on twitter that they were splitting from Activision and in the divorce there taking along destiny which in my opinion yes that is awesome now let’s see what happens in the future.
If you played both destiny 1 n 2 then you will know the game has had a hard life and many pointed fingers at Activision myself included simply because all they wanted was the money back for there investment, I remember many rumors that went around after the release of taken king that it was part of vanilla destiny and Activision made bungie cut it to be made into DLC. Now I know how much drama went on with destiny the fact that dlc took forever to arrive and the fact that the game had no real story except for the lore that you discovered throughout the game. Destiny 2 even though it had a story and decent lore suffered the same as the first game as in not having enough end game content and to be honest even now after forsaken and the annual pass things are slowly moving in the right direction.
Now what does this mean for destiny in general? Easy it means bungie doesnt have big brother pressuring them to release this now and to do this as well dont get me wrong I’m fine with paying for a season pass as long as the content in it is worth it and even tho many people hated curse of osiris me and many people I’ve spoken to agreed that if bungie had done more with the infinite forest it could have been a huge success and even now I feel bungie should go back and let us travel through time and visit historic moments in history. This also means that any issues that come out with future installments of the game will be strictly on bungie if they hit or miss and personally I hope they learned from all there mistakes and I hope that what they start to offer will be awesome.
I also hope that the PC community doesnt get affected to much considering d2 is on battle.net I hope bungie can find a way to keep us going o PC I admit I am nervous about that.
I want bungie to succeed even though I have a love n hate relationship with destiny I still want the future of this franchise to blossom and I cant wait to see what bungie starts bringing to the table thanks everyone have a great day.
Gambit
No I’m not talking about one of the best X-Men ever, I’m talking about destiny’s new game mode introduced with forsaken. Hey guys hows it going? So when bungie introduced forsaken they also introduced a new PvP game mode called Gambit. Now gambit isn’t your normal pvp mode as it has pve aspects which is what makes this game mode fun to play over n over. Now in gambit players play till they win 2 rounds and how do you win you ask? You summon a special boss called the Primevil now how do you summon said baddie well at the start of the round you get a big map divided into 4 sectors 3 of the 4 sectors spawn bad guys in a rotation when you kill said guys they drop a special object called motes which is basically the game modes currency the last area of the map is a flat platform where your bank rest. Your team must kill the monsters saving their motes till they have either 5, 10 or 15 motes saved to send a blocker to the enemy teams side, this is where it gets fun cause the faster you bank your motes the faster you can open up your invader portal to go to the other side and wreck havoc on the enemy team to make it harder so they can’t summon their primevil. Now I’m not one for competitive play but this is one mode where I have played hours into it, my current rank is mythic 1, this game mode I find it fun to play even with randoms but if you have a group of friends to play with the good times get better. This game mode is how you also get a special quest for the hand cannon malficense I won’t spoil anything from that quest so you can get it yourself. The map rotation is a bit lacking with only 4 maps at the moment but I can completely understand as it will take time to produce more maps cause of having to split it into different areas. The enemies you fight are picked at random from the enemies in game, the only enemies that are a sure threat is the primevil who is a taken boss. I hope to see some new maps added to this game mode in the future maybe even a hybrid gambit iron banner would be epic as well but my biggest request please bungie keep this game mode in future installments of destiny. It’s fun, it’s new, and it gives people a reason to play the competitive scene in destiny that’s all I have to say for this guys hope you enjoyed the read and I’ll catch you next time take care.
