Hey guys today I wanna talk to you about Adaptory but first huge thanks to Stormcloak games and indie.io for sending me a copy its greatly appreciated.
Now i love colony sim games ive played a bunch over my years but ive never played one as punishing as Adaptory. This game is clearly inspired by oxygen not included even tho i never played it im sure its easier then this.
So the game opens up with you picking the first 4 people which im assuming you get more as you progress you load in and you crash land on an alien planet your ship is a mess and you gotta move quick as oxygen is running out. Now thankfully there’s a bit of a tutorial that shows you the basics and what to do and thankfully the tutorial stays there for every run which is a huge plus for me but it does lack some info with issues ive encountered during my run more on that later.
So you start digging underground getting materials to start building and thankfully the main material is dirt as you build everything from dirt dont ask me how you get metal from dirty but you do now as your people are building there living against time the oxygen bar is small and runs out quick sadly it recovers slowly which im guessing is there way of getting as close as possible to realism.
Soon your tasked with building a research desk to unlock power and other important things thankfully all material needs again are simple just dirt which I like as it keeps some stress off during early stages but your in space how do you get power theres 2 options solar panels and a small coal plant you can use both well actually your forced to use both as solar panels dont really produce enough energy as for the coal plant as long as you have coal your golden which you find while digging underground.
The game offers special views to monitor the oxygen and power grids but honestly it doesn’t show much in my opinion just an overlay of where stuff is.
Now ive played a few hours into this game over 15 runs and every single time I end up losing to all my idiots dying, yes I called them idiots cause honestly they are they will mope around outside in the void of space sometimes not moving and dying because they couldn’t be assed to move to safety. By best run thanks to RNGesus I was able to get water pumps and oxygen generators going but then what even using the over lay you see where the oxygen is at but it barely moves or expands this is were my mood starts going sour.
Even with a tutorial after maybe 5 minutes the game just stops it doesn’t expand on oxygen generators or water pumps after you unlock them and build it doesn’t tell you or show you how to fully utilize stuff to get the maximum benefit and fine I get it the devs want you to figure shit out but if your not giving players an actual tutorial run people will get frustrated and quit and I did after over 23 runs of just dying over and over I gave up even with everything I learned it still wasnt enough my biggest gripe is at one point a warning icon pops up saying cant operate due to pressure ok how do I fix it where is the info and the game gives you nothing what in the actual fuck am I supposed to magically know what to do no its the devs job during tutorial to show players everything and they cant even be assed to give a proper tutorial.
All that aside yes the game is fun and if your a fan of builder style games then check this out and if you’ve played oxygen not included then you might have no problems here but clearly this game doesn’t want new players and its sad I really wanna keep playing it but im not gonna risk punching my monitor thanks to how frustrated this game made me.
Thats all for today guys thank you for stopping by take care and game on.

RUNESCAPE DRAGONWILDS DELVES DEEPER INTO UNCHARTERED TERRITORIES AFTER SMASHING 1 MILLION SALES
New regions will expand Jagex’s fantasy survival game in the months ahead, as it continues to navigate a successful expedition through Steam Early Access.
Thursday, 29th January 2026, Cambridge, UK – Jagex, creator of the iconic RuneScape franchise, has today unveiled further details on the next uncharted regions of Ashenfall set to emerge from the mists of RuneScape Dragonwilds over the next year. Featured as part of today’s community summit livestream, these new and mysterious areas – Dowdun Reach, Umbral Sands, and Scorned Wilderness – will expand the world and continue the Kuldra Saga, which began with the game’s launch into Early Access in April 2025.
Watch the community livestream here: https://www.twitch.tv/rsdragonwilds
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is an epic, open-world survival and crafting game set on Gielinor’s forgotten continent of Ashenfall, where solo players or teams of up to four, embark on quests to discover why untamed, transformative magic spills across the broken, fractured land. This latest deep dive into the upcoming early access content comes soon after Jagex recently announced sales of the game has broken the one million sales milestone.
Dowdun Reach: Madness of Zamorak
Scheduled to launch towards the end of March, Dowdun Reach is an area choking under the shadow of Zamorak, the God of Chaos. At its heart is a mountain fortress lost in the mists of long ago, now haunted by the twisted, tormented Black Knights.
Focused on the fortified stronghold’s labyrinthine halls, battlements, armouries, and inner chambers, players must complete layered quests, overcome its knights in deadly combat, and explore every hidden corner. Those who dare push into the inner keep and beyond will uncover materials needed to craft mithril-tier gear and weapons, but nothing comes easily. Deeper within, an even greater challenge awaits: Blue Dragons.
Dowdun Reach will also see a brand-new skill for players to max out, as Fishing makes its debut in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. The overall level cap for each skill in the game will also be increasing to 99, with content being retroactively added to existing skills in future content updates.
Umbral Sands: Fire of Fuzan
Coming this Summer, the vast desert region of the Umbral Sands comes to the game, bringing with it the blistering heat from the sun bearing down upon baking ground. Featuring a dangerously dynamic environmental system, players exposed to its rays will be drained of health, making their use of shade and the time of day critical for survival. But of course, while the daytime heralds the unbearable heat and attacks from the elemental Kot’Haar, nighttime brings with it new dangers for players to face…
Ruled by Fuzan, the Red Dragon General, the Umbral Sands will introduce a selection of iconic RuneScape items to the game, including Adamant tier gear, Red Dragonhide, and Yew Bows and Staffs, together with Icthlarin, the Demigod of the Underworld.
Scorned Wilderness: Rage of Kuldra
Due to launch in September 2027, Scorned Wilderness will bring the Kuldra Saga to a stunning conclusion as players face off against Kuldra, the God Eater.
In addition to the major updates above, RuneScape: Dragonwilds will also receive monthly minor updates adding new quests and activities to the game as well as adding quality of life fixes.
RuneScape: Dragonwilds is available now on Steam Early Access.
Karma the Dark world
From Silence to Shadows: Celebrating Geng Li and The Music Behind Acclaimed Indie Horror Game KARMA: The Dark World
Unreleased Behind the Scenes footage explores sound, silence, and psychological tension.
Watford, United Kingdom – 30th of January – Independent publisher Wired Productions and developer Pollard Studio are once again spotlighting the sound and score of KARMA: The Dark World with the release of a new short documentary exploring the music and audio technology behind the critically acclaimed psychological horror released in 2025, whose score earned a WSA nomination. The feature highlights how sound and silence underpin the game’s emotional weight and unsettling atmosphere. The release coincides with a Steam Daily Deal, offering players 45% off for a limited time, and inviting a wider audience to experience how audio plays a central role in KARMA’s thought-provoking psychological horror.
The Behind the Scenes video offers a detailed look at how the music and audio for KARMA: The Dark World were shaped under the direction of Geng Li, who handled both the original score and the game’s sound design. The production spanned multiple locations worldwide, with the full orchestra recorded in Hungary, select instruments such as drums captured in Japan, and final mixing and finishing completed in the United States, reflecting the global scale of the project. Across nearly four hours of compositions, Li’s work was designed to not only support but play a key role in the game’s psychological tension and fragmented realities. The score also incorporates restrained, character-focused motifs alongside fuller, emotionally charged cues, together reinforcing the game’s narrative atmosphere and enhancing the emotional stakes of each encounter.

Rouge Night
Hello everyone today I wanna talk to you about a sweet little indie game called Rouge Night but first huge thank you to Grey November Games for sending me a copy its greatly appreciated it now let’s dive in.
The first issue i had with the game was a bit game breaking I opened a cave door and everytime I went in the game crashed on me I reported it to the devs on there discord as another player had the same issue they told me to give them some time which I did the next date an update went live for the game fixing the door that really impressed me the devs were quick responsive and didnt brush me off they made me feel like my worth as a player was worth more then gold and it felt awesome another time i was experiencing lag and crashing talked to the devs again and after some back and forth they were able to recreate the issues and send out a fix this is how devs keep gamers by talking and showing up for them and I for one will definitely stay, now the reason I started with this is cause I wanna show gamers out there that devs do listen.
Those are literally the only issue’s ive had with the game which is an rougelike sandbox open world survival crafting and ima throw in rpg cause you do missions lol but yeah you start the game and talk to a spirit fox which guides you with your missions telling you where to go you make your way out of a forest to this castle city thats in ruins as the zombies destroy everything, now im not a huge fan of zombies I hate horror games but I gave this one a shot the graphic style didnt make anything over scary like in an actual horror game on the contrary the zombies looked adorable and made me wanna fight them all even more.
The game offers a good variety of weapons from a sword to daggers to a spear and great sword and everything else the game offers cant spoil it all. Most weapons are found on enemies or on the ground so make sure you fight alot cause you will need to.The map is big and there’s lots to explore and plenty of missions to do i think there were 8 pages of missions but im sure more will be added down the line.
You also get to build a house where survivors you find will gather yes there’s other living people in the game thankfully, I did realize that when you die you lose everything and restart over I havent had a chance to ask about that so ill update if I get to ask. there’s also some pretty intense bosses as well first one I found was a giant spider and boy do I hate spiders.
This game is fun its simple its not very demanding or taxing on your system and honestly it deserves more eyes on it I cant wait to see how the game turns out and what more they add to it thank you all for stopping by take care and game on.

Adaptory
Survive, Discover, Thrive: Adaptory Launches into Early Access on Steam!
Survive a spaceship crash, build a sustainable colony, and thrive!
[Aotearoa / New Zealand] – January 26, 2026 – Stormcloak Gamesand indie.io are proud to announce that Adaptory, the indie survival base-building sim, is now available in Early Access on Steam! This ambitious, systems-driven adventure puts players in indirect control of a crew of Terranean explorers suddenly woken up from cryosleep as their starship crashes into the surface of an uncharted planetoid. A mission of exploration turns into one of survival.
Players start with a four-person crew, each procedurally generated with a unique set of personality traits and specialized skills, and a crashed ship. From there, it’s up to them to figure out how to ensure their party can survive on the planetoid. Interlocking systems simulate chemical and physical properties of over fifty materials offer unlimited solutions in an environment filled with challenges and limited resources. Players need to think ahead in planning their expansion, with complexity naturally growing as the crew explores the planetoid and locates or fails to locate new resources.

Random events will stress test the player’s crew and base constantly. It might be a meteor shower damaging the surface of the planetoid and venting a crucial area to the vacuum of space, a solar eclipse suddenly leaving the base without power, plunging the tree farm into darkness and depriving everyone of oxygen, or an explorer holding their breath a little too long in a cave filled with carbon dioxide.
Beyond accident-proofing, players need to tend to the crew’s mental health: Their randomly generated personalities may mesh together – or drive a wedge between them. Coupled with other pressures, the mood may dip – and that affects the explorers’ ability to work, movement speed, and general resilience. Neglecting the social aspect of the base can lead to a cascading failure even in the most optimized base designs!
While complex, Adaptory ensures that it is not overwhelming through CHARLI, a cheeky artificial intelligence that survived the crash and introduces each system to the player through a series of contextual tutorials. These do not limit the players’ ability to build and explore, allowing them to set their own pace. This also ensures that every mishap is just another step in understanding and mastering the game’s core mechanics and creating a truly sustainable settlement.
Sustainability is the focus of the game’s gameplay, encouraging resiliency and long-term thinking. Instead of terrifying aliens, the challenge lies in surviving on a seemingly barren world. With the right plan, mistakes can be recovered from, creating an experience where nurturing a crew and base back to full health is more rewarding than simply restarting the game from scratch.
As an Early Access title, Adaptory will continue to evolve in close collaboration with its community. Stormcloak Games plans to actively incorporate player feedback as development progresses toward a full 1.0 release. Planned updates include expanding the research tree with new systems, including material refining and smelting, advanced heating and cooling mechanics, and ever deeper layers of simulation that further challenge players to build resilient, self-sustaining colonies.
Are you up for the task? Adaptory is now available in Early Access on Steam for USD $19.99, with a 20% launch discount! Join the Discord server and a growing community of Adaptory fans actively involved in helping shape the game’s design- then follow Stormcloak Games on YouTube, BlueSky, Mastodon, and Instagram to stay up to date!
GAMBONANZA
Stray Fawn and Sidekick Publishing Assemble Indie “Dream Team” for Global Launch of GAMBONANZA
ZURICH, CH / BERLIN, DE / PARIS, FR – 26th January 2026 – Stray Fawn and Sidekick Publishing are proud to announce a global co-publishing partnership for Gambonanza, the upcoming roguelike chess-builder from solo developer Paul Giovannini (Blukulélé Studio). The original trailer reveal from Blukulélé back in March 2025 has wracked up a whopping 560k views! Coming soon to PC and Mobile platforms, a public playtest is now live on Steam.
While Stray Fawn’s involvement with the title was previously known, the inclusion of Sidekick Publishing as a global co-publisher marks a major expansion for the project. In a significant update to the game’s roadmap, the partners have confirmed that Gambonanza will now launch simultaneously on PC and Mobile platforms later this year. To facilitate this multi-platform release, the team has enlisted the expertise of ATEO, who will handle the mobile ports. This collaboration represents the assembly of a strategic “dream team” across the European indie scene, reuniting partners with a previous history of successful collaboration.
A Proven Indie-Alliance
This is not the first time these entities have shared the board. Sidekick and Stray Fawn previously worked together on the successful publishing of TerraScape in 2024. Furthermore, ATEO acts as a common technical thread, having recently collaborated with Sidekick on the mobile launch of Dwarves: Glory, Death and Loot, and with Stray Fawn on the mobile version of Dungeon Clawler. This collective experience ensures that Gambonanza benefits from a highly synchronized group of experts committed to bringing a new vision of chess to a global audience.
About Gambonanza: A Roguelike Chess Revolution
Gambonanza is a turn-based chess roguelike set on a condensed board where tactical risks yield high rewards. The game reimagines traditional chess as a strategy-packed adventure where victory requires capturing every piece on the board through synergistic play.
Key Features:
- Synergistic Gambits: Over 150 Gambits allow players to alter the properties of their run, such as supercharging specific pieces or forcing enemies to skip turns.
- Tactical Board Upgrades: Players can enhance the chessboard with golden squares, blessing tiles, and protective surfaces to gain a tactical edge.
- Dynamic Reserve System: A unique off-board storage system allows players to keep extra pieces in reserve, deploying them at pivotal moments to shift the balance of power.
- High-Impact Rounds: Smaller starting boards intensify the strategic tension, delivering quick yet deep gameplay sessions.
- Retro Aesthetic: The game features vibrant pixel art and a nostalgic CRT filter, complemented by a quirky atmosphere and mini-games inspired by slot machines, pachinko and Gachapon.
Playtest and Upcoming Demo
To coincide with this partnership announcement, a Public Playtest is now live on Steam. This phase allows the community to provide critical insights ahead of Steam Next Fest in late February. These insights will help refine the experience as the team prepares for a free Demo release (coming soon) and the full global launch across PC and Mobile later this year.
Executive Quotes
Paul Giovannini (Blukulélé):
“Sidekick immediately understood Gambonanza, both the game and the vision behind it. They just get it, making our collaboration ridiculously smooth and motivating. And now that another partner has joined the adventure, our very serious victory poses have somehow become even more dramatically hilarious!”
Sidekick Publishing:
“Bringing a classic board game like chess to both PC and mobile with such a clever, roguelike twist is an opportunity we are thrilled to be part of. This partnership allows us to reunite with our long-term friends at Stray Fawn and ATEO, building up on that existing foundation of trust. We are 100% committed to Paul’s vision for Gambonanza and are eager to apply our collective expertise to make it a global success.” – Jasmin Oestreicher, Co-CEO and Co-Founder at Sidekick Publishing
Stray Fawn:
“When one of my teammates discovered the Gambonanza trailer on YouTube, we were all blown away by its charm. Within hours, I reached out to Paul to ask about a possible collaboration. When he said yes, it escalated into a small party at the office. And now, we have another big moment to celebrate, as our long-time partners Ateo and Sidekick have joined in as well.” – Philomena Schwab, Co-Founder at Stray Fawn Studio
ATEO:
“Gambonanza is a Steam game screaming for a mobile port; its core loop hooks players instantly with the perfect balance of speed and depth. We knew we were working on something amazing when our lead developer disappeared for 80 hours, resurfacing only to dive into in-depth feedback with the creator, Paul. Uniting our separate partners on this single project has been, simply put, awesome for everyone involved.” – Sebastian Tobler, Co-Founder and General Manager at ATEO
