DustPunk

First off huge thanks to Clockwork Bird for sending me a copy of dustpunk its greatly appreciated let’s talk about it.

Dustpunk is a tabletop steam punk rpg with a great story and choices that have consequences but thats what makes this game so compelling to play, if you’ve played dungeons and dragons then you will feel right at home with this as every action requires a dice roll to complete and trust me you gotta score decent or that game kicks your butt for it.

So your starting stats are determined by which of the 4 characters you wish you play you’ve got a write, a criminal, an engineer and finally a veteran each character has a strong stat which you would think would benefit you more but it doesn’t feel like it sometimes.

You come home from the war in a dead barge as you were confused for being dead and this is where the first of many rolls start as your fighting for survival and as we know every action has a reaction for me I was screwed right from the start I got a decent roll but still ended up with a broken leg as I escaped the body purge. And after that my hard story begins I had picked an engineer since they sounded the best in my opinion but man was everything a struggle.

The game has 3 status bars that are followed and are honestly a reminder of how real the game feels the first bar is energy which you gain from eating and spend it with every action you take the next is the health bar which fills with food as well I call this the stomach bar because it drains fast and takes a bit to get it under control and finally the bar that cursed me and was my bain is the sanity bar which fills with almost everything major that happens to you and if you dont get enough sleep it fills up more as well I felt this bar was a bit over powered in the sense that everything hurts you and barely anything helps you, the sanity bar is also tied into the dice system see if you fill the bar your dice gets a skull killing whatever number was there and making your dice rolls even harder this had screwed me as I had 3 skulls before I finally lost in my run even tho I had discovered so much and was working and meeting people I could not get the sanity bar under control I feel this needs a bit of tuning to maybe not be so punishing or to offer other ways to make it go down.

This was my first tabletop style game and I gotta say I loved every minute of it even with everything working against me the stories you find really draw you in and make you feel as if your actually there surviving the choices you make. Dustpunk is one of those games where morality doesn’t exist as every choice is you living and breathing to move forward and there’s lots of choices the map is actually pretty big even tho most of it is covered by clouds until you discover it sadly I got close to getting to the second area but I died ending my run.

This game has massive replay ability and if you love making hard choices and consequences then this is the game for you each run will feel hard but rewarding in the sense that you breath just a few more hours until something else tries to take you out.

All in all dustpunk is worth it and will draw you in from the start dice and choices really feel at home with this game, thats all for now thank you all for stopping by take care and game on.

Night Swarm

Hey everyone hows it going today I wanna talk to you about a little gem called night swarm a vampire rougelite thats actually interesting with its own twist, let’s talk about it, But first I wanna thank Fubu Games for sending me a copy its greatly appreciated.

So night swarm is another one of those vampire survivor like rougelite you are Roderic a vampire assigned with bringing back the glory of your people and castle against the war that threatens to engulf everything. So the game feels like a giant board game the characters all have a base like a board game and they walk the same by jumping around I thought this was awesome it made me smile seeing something different.

The game has a skill tree, relics, artifacts and a bunch of other stuff you discover along the way there’s a giant map divided into parts you must unlock and make your way through but after selecting which part you wanna go to you have a path that has many choices and those are the levels you will be playing in this war. The levels have a lot of different factors to them some are boss fights others you fight against elites but there’s also quest to progress the story and so forth.

You also have companions that will offer different boost to you during your runs so your not alone sadly they dont attack which would have been more helpful then just a buff but thats just my 2 cents. Theres also a bunch of companions you unlock using the reputation you earn.

For mission progression you continue along until you see exclamation points floating around certain lvls so far the story seems interesting from the little bit ive gotten from it i do hope more is explained since now I have vampires and werewolves trying to kill me go figure

If your a fan of rougelites and love vampires then this game is for you there’s no price yet as the release date is December 4th but there is a demo live right now give it a shot and enjoy thanks for stopping by take care and game on.

Dark Quest 4

First off I wanna thank brain seal for sending me a copy its greatly appreciated now let’s talk about dark quest 4.

Tho my time has been brief I have learned a lot from the game, it feels like a classic d&d vibe as you progress around the map with your pieces as the dungeon master looms over you watching your every move, there’s treasures and traps and a skull that helps and hates you but the game has its moments.

So the game throws you into the intro mission where you discover your first 3 characters you explore the dungeon until your able to make your way out thus starting your journey to destroy the big bad guy. At base camp you sit around a camp fire with 5 npcs around you all waiting to help you during your journey from a trainer to a merchant an alchemist to a blacksmith each npc offers a different form of help for your journey and that help comes in the form of quick play cards that you can use in combat from healing to damage to a bit of everything in between.
The journey is divided into tiles on a map that you must progress through in order to reach the end and save the world but the game wont make it easy even with me moving the difficulty sliders around I had a hard time surviving my journeys and would lose 1 of my companions making the rest of my journey that much harder.

The enemies dont play around the undead hordes want you gone and they will make sure your gone if possible the zombie chickens are the worse cause if they surround you then they will screw your run up so fast its not even funny.

Dark quest 4 gives off old school game nights with it playing like a board game its fun the combat is easy to learn and there is no learning curve everything is right there simple and easy to learn and play the game is fun in its own ways.

I played on the nintendo switch I didnt have any issues and the game felt right at home even in hand held mode so if your looking for some nostalgic feels then dark quest 4 is it I give this game a solid 6/10 thank you all for stopping by take care and game on.

Digimon CyberSleuth

So I recently started playing my first digimon game cybersleuth and its been a fun experience so far let’s talk a bit.

So as the main character you and your friends start off meeting up in eden after only talking in game but you guys get attacked by this monster and thats where the fun starts a cut scene takes over showing the real world and a crowd of people crowding around a digital being that just so happens to be you the main character. Suddenly you get helped by a random women who’s a detective and she helps you out through out the games progression.

So the game takes place in both the real world and digital world and this being my first digimon game i wasnt sure what to expect i had so much to learn and learn i am. You see the digimons have types and weaknesses that are critical for combat, its not like in other games where you can brute force what you do here you actually need strategy and I had to learn that quick as ive come close to having my ass handed to me plenty of times.

Items are crucial in the game as you actually must use them in order to survive fights and some of the fights ive had have been very hard.

You have a good amount of people helping you along the way as you find some crazy story plots that leave you wondering how is that possible after only about 7 chapters I can say this game takes a lot of commitment and work to progress and for my first digimon game im actually happy with it.

Ive been playing on the nintendo switch which I gotta say this console really shines with rpg games being able to just sit and relax the game runs perfectly so far no issues that ive noticed haven’t had any stutters and the load times aren’t that bad coming from a gamer that plays mostly on pc.

All in all im having fun with cybersleuth and will post an update once I get further into the game itself thank you all for stopping by take care and game on.

Pokemon Legends Z-A

Hello everyone hows it going today we talk about pokemon legends za and if its worth it and guess what short answer yes its worth it long answer its absolutely worth it and then some so let’s talk about what game freak, nintendo and the pokemon company gave us.

So where do I start well at the beginning of course so the game starts us off with us the player getting off a train and the grand lumiose city where within seconds we are greeted with the first of many characters that we will encounter taunie after some talking the game continues taking us on a bit of a mission until finally we get to selecting our starter pokemon between chikorita totodile and tepig and yours truly picked my favorite funny boy totodile. Soon after we are dropped into our hotel where we stay during the whole journey of our game. The game starts with a bit of hand holding until maybe after the first 20 minutes give or take where you finally get control and freedom.

So why legends za i dont know but za is the rank tournament that we as the player enter and take part of now i for one was excited about this using you skills in a ranking system instead of the normal badge system and I got behind it the game also introduced a day and night cycle which helps with different adventures in the game during the day you explore the city catching pokemon in the wild zones and at night you battle it out for glory in the za tournament battle royal and it only gets harder as you progress.

Alpha pokemon from legends arceus are back not as big and scary but still big and scary and boy can they hold there own but if you manage to get them down and catch them you have yourself and extra extra large pokemon who dwarfs there normal selves. You find the alpha pokemon in the wild zones there the bosses of the area and in the early game they are a handful.

The starters you actually get to find them in the wild zones at later points in the game and you dont know how happy that makes me to finally be able to catch them and not need to trade for them over and over this is a feature they need to keep moving forward.

Mega forms are back and I for one love the mega evolutions they added flair to the pokemon and some megas just looked so damn cool definitely couldn’t complain about it.

My new favorite feature of this game is the battle system its a real time battle the moves recharged so your no longer stuck to the pp system of old games thank lord and the battles are hectic but fun running around trying to dodge moves and reposition yourself its a blast I dont care what anyone says this new system is top tier and needs to move forward with future games.

I do hate the evolution system pretty sure its the same one from legends arceus where you actually click on the pokemon then click on the option to evolve i for one am not a fan of it one bit.
The trainers in this game are definitely a handful not only are they close to your level but there strong and this is the first game where typing and move types are a huge factor I remember in the old games you could just brute force your way through most fights but in za everything is calculated and moves matter your pokemon type and move type matter but its fun because for once I actually use all 6 pokemon unlike in old games where I mostly stuck to my starter or whoever was my strongest so keep that in mind for your play through.

You will see some familiar faces from the past and there involvement in the story is slowly exposed but so far the story really doesn’t start coming out until near the end where a certain legendary becomes more known.

So the game has 38 main missions 42 post game missions and over 100 side quest missions so you have a good amount of stuff to explore and enjoy.

Now onto the biggest gripe I have with this game is literally after almost every conversation there’s a fucking pokemon battle and sometimes its 2 or 3 battles in a row I got to the point I had 6 battles in a row to progress my story then if I need some info guess what you guessed it another fucking battle by the point im at now I am sick of the game and battles I wanna get the story over with just so im not forced into battles and I can enjoy everything but thats my 2 cents I know pokemon is all about fighting but come on give me a break.

But all in all I’ve enjoyed every aspect of the game and I’ve had fun with all the wild zones and checking out all the stores for the latest fashion I wish they would add a pokeball customization option even if it cost money cause im close to the end of the game and have over 400k in money since I earn 40 to 60k a night I think that would be a cool add on but thats just me anyways guys thanks so much for stopping by hope you enjoyed take care and game on.

Lumentale Memories of trey

So I wanna thank beehive studios for sending me a copy of this demo and that’s all the pleasantries I have sadly on to the rest.

The game starts out slow excruciatingly slow and I was having a very hard time vibing with the game between how much dialog I had to read through and all the tedious beginning quest the game really needs a boost of speed so people can get to the good stuff instead of wasting 30 minutes or more getting through stuff.

After according to my steam timer I hit about 45 almost 50 minutes did I get my first animon gotta say he looked bad ass and you get to choose between 5 different kinds which is a huge plus giving you some nice variety.

Now onto the big issues that basically broke the game for me and made it unplayable. When I was trying to enter a building the game froze on me and I couldn’t do anything I was trying to be optimistic but it was a massive foreshadowing I restart and progress forward then all my animons glitch out and become my starter ok great a glitch now I tried to push forward and not worry until I arrive at a critical story part that I need to do to progress. There I experienced a total of 6 freeze bugs even after reinstalling nothing changed I understand this is a demo and im trying to enjoy it but when the game breaks for me there’s nothing I can do sadly I really wanted to enjoy and play this game so im hoping down the road i can give it another shot but for now its unplayable and needs some work and optimization. Thank you for your time have a great day and game on.

Nice day for Fishing

You know as a big fan of viva la dirt and there skits I always wanted a game based on there stuff and we finally have it its called nice day for fishing.

The game has you take over town fisherman bailen and become an adventurer and I gotta say its great, honeywood is in trouble after an ancient evil awakens and attacks all others, where are the adventures… missing buy why.

The game starts out simple do this get this quest as you progress the story you meet every character from honeywood along the way from Greg the garlic farmer to bodger the blacksmith and even others like the great baradun. So yes this game is being true to its core material and I for one am loving it.

Combat has to be the most unique part of the game as all enemies are fishes and your goal is to fish them out but man did the devs make this hard as fishes fight back so you gotta use spells for damage and stamina recovery as well as blocking and attacking at the right moments it takes a bit to get used to but the combat is fun and interesting to say.

The game really sticks to its material but man I feel sometimes the characters are a bit harsh to bailen im looking at you wizard boy lmao. But there’s also plenty of comedic feel as you progress in bailens journey to save the great town of honeywood and I for one and enjoying my journey.

No but seriously this game is worth playing its fun its cozy and relaxing and has great dialog and progression its definitely a 10/10 from me and a must play so if your looking for a new game please give this game a chance not only to support the devs and cast but to experience the love and passion this game was built on.

I wanna thank the devs at fusion play and team17 for sending me this game I’ve loved every minute of it and cant wait to progress more and save honeywood. Also I refused to give to much as to not spoil the game sorry. Thank you for stopping by take care and game on.
