First off massive thank you to Pajama Llama games for sending me a copy of the game its greatly appreciated, so let’s get into it.
Flotsam is a city builder on a boat in a world over taken by water, yes you read that right your playing a city builder on the water and at the center of it all is your tug boat I mean let’s be real if you’ve plays airborne kingdom or the wandering village this isnt a far stretch.
So thankfully the game has a tutorial and its really well done it teaches you to move and build as well as how to navigate the map and gives you quest along the way so your not bored its really well done and I enjoyed my time with the tutorial. So my first run or my tutorial run to better put it I played 5.5 hours into it and I managed to do a lot until it all crashed and burned let’s dive into more of the game.
The world is over literally the oceans have risen and your boat is your life line so you travel around in search of materials to use and forage the main one being plastic and wood you see the plastic is used to make what’s called floaters which are basically jugs that wont sink and everything in this game takes plastics which sucks cause in my run there was times I couldn’t find any plastic at all, then there’s wood which you will find floating in the ocean or on little islands where you can cut the trees down and use them to make planks or firewood which sadly both are used alot so the struggle is real so you always gotta think about how to spend your wood as it is very valuable.
Then there’s food I mean let’s be real you just survived the end of the world you gotta eat right so let’s find some food thankfully the food variety is plenty as the first you find is seaweed which is turned into a salad or rope but then you move up to the next tier which is fish and around the world there’s plenty of fish I think there’s 3 different types of fish for you to find and cook. Then there’s the next tier which you find old abandoned super markets and grab food there finally the last tier are the farms where you will find potatoes, corn, wheat and more which I haven’t gotten that far yet. So food is solid lots of great options just gotta find it.
The next problem you’ll encounter is storage and housing which you will need lots of both the houses thankfully help with another aspect of the game.
That aspect Morale every survival has a morale compass basically and the happier they are the more productive there gonna be which there’s a lot to learn with the characters you see they level up but they also have there favorite things to do so its good to make sure you have the right people working in the right spots it helps things go smoother.
Now this is where things started going bad for me I had 9 residents and was working on getting electricity going to make some things easier for my people boy was that a bad idea you see the power grid is very volatile if you dont prepare enough for it you see as your town gets bigger it gets heavier making your main vessel waste electricity faster making it harder to find stuff and progress so you gotta build batteries that help you store more energy but thats not the only problem you see there’s buildings that waste the electricity and they drain it faster then you can make it go figure the game does have a few options to produce energy a bike generator a wood burning generator and oil burner and finally solar panels. But again you gotta know how to balance it so you dont screw yourself over.
This game focuses hugely on production and balance one item feeds into several others and so forth. My next run was much better I had less people so food and water could last longer but with less people production is slower cause you need those people to do everything from gathering to crafting to researching so needing more people is a must but again balance is needed.
My play time isnt a huge amount clocking in just over 12 hours ive come to learn that this city builder really pushes your thinking skills to some im sure it will be a cake walk to others they might crash and burn a few times but not once did I rage quit or get angry at the game I wanted more to keep building and finding stuff to make my characters better and give them the home they so desperately want during these trying times, Flotsam takes a page out of other city builders but keeps it going in an original formula a floating city during the end of the world the games graphics are also very relaxed and colorful nothing to over powering or demanding.
There are a few things I would love to see added maybe a way to make our own plastics also I would love to be able to zoom out more and look at the whole map and not just be limited to a certain area also when your not in the tutorial it feels like you struggle a bit finding people and getting the story going I dont know if thats a user error or if its designed that way.
All in all flotsam is a very solid game and you can easily lose yourself playing it easily sinking hours into it so if your looking for a cozy city builder check out flotsam on steam its worth it thank you for stopping by take care and as always game on.

Forever Skies pc 1.0
Survival games a genre of there own from being stranded on islands to fighting against nature and other people survival games have very seldom strayed from the formula keeping story’s to a minimum but today a new survival game thats graced me with there 1.0 game play has kicked things up a notch and is truly one worth playing.
First off huge thank you to Far From Home for sending me a copy of there game its been on steam early access for a while but now with its 1.0 its also available on consoles so check it out.
Humanity has abandoned earth those able to leave live in space on the Ark those left behind well they have suffered a great deal with this catastrophe. The people on the Ark are dying from a virus named the Grey Plague with no cure in sight they launch you the player back down into earth to find a cure go figure.
So on earth nature has taken over theres haze and dust everywhere and humanity lives in the sky. So what’s going on here i dont know or do I.
So you crash land at the coordinates of the last surveyors that were there on the same mission and this is where the tutorial starts showing you what to grab and what to find you manage to find a device that basically breaks items down to a molecular level at least thats the animation the items fit normally in your bag but this is how you get materials with this molecular extractor. Then you are tasked with repairing a ship and finding the resource scanner which helps you identify things and learn what they are what they do and where to find them.
Theres so much to do after the tutorial the story involves you finding the people that came before you so lots of random flying until you find new buildings and discover more. You will find random data pads some have missions other tell the stories of the people before you and continue the story mission.
This game for a survival game offers so much on the exploration building up the awesome ship you find and just chilling as you slowly float along I promise you its worth it the scenery though morbid it offers its own unique beauty.
Now onto the issues ive found the biggest being the radar map you find a radar blueprint and build it this is how you get to places easier and learn where to go but the issue is your stuck with a tiny ass screen instead of being able to blow it up much bigger like seriously then on top of that the random markers on the map have so descriptions to figure out what they are a big let down I feel the map coulda been bigger even if covered by a fog of war effect. Then materials it took me forever to find enough copper to build the next upgrade I needed cause the copper is only in one item im sorry ive passed a million things that could house copper but no they make it so scarce that its a bit demoralizing I wanted to quit plenty of times but I kept pushing I wanted that upgrade and im glad I did push forward the upgrade is a massive game changer but they need to make copper findable even in small amounts.
Other then those 2 complaints I have enjoyed my time with Forever Skies and I am thankful to be able to play it I highly recommend it to fellow survival fans and if you stopped playing cause of early access do yourself a favor go back the game is amazing.
The flying in this game is so good I wasnt sure what to expect even on mouse and keyboard you feel the resistance of the throttle engaging the ship slowing down and stopping as well as taking off and landing the flying alone is a massive win a solid 10 outta 10.
As for the story well guys I dont ruin stories you will have to play and find out, thank you all for stopping by take care and game on.
Windward Horizon
First of massive thank you to Tasharen Entertainment for sending me a key to this gem of a game hope you guys enjoy my point of view.
The game is just a massive sailing adventure out in the world your adventure spirit is the only thing holding you back.
The game starts with the captain dying and he asking you to take him back to his home so he can spend his final hours with his family and loved ones after that you return to your ship unsure of how to progress until the crew chooses you as the new captain oh boy time to put on your big boy pants. This is basically the small tutorial where I wish it was longer and more detailed so the crew and you talk agreeing that we need a new ship so its time to get going.
You can take quest at different ports or just sail around fishing and fighting other pirates if you want. The game has some nice controls and doesn’t try to overwhelm you like others in this genre tend to do. It also sets you free and I do mean sets you free as in once the games done telling you how to do stuff boom its all on you which is a bit overwhelming in itself and I kinda wish it held on a little longer also add some indicators I get we are pirates but give the option of indicators to players it helps out. Also your not forced into combat every choice is left to you unless a world event or a quest requires you to fight that is and thats a bonus cause combat doesn’t become a pain after a while.
The game is available on steam for a nice 20 dollars and gives you your money’s worth i give it a 7.5/10 for my time spent with it so grab it set sail and enjoy thank you for stopping by take care and game on.
Rum & Gold royale
Hey guys i was able to participate in a small indie game called rum n gold Royale now I’m sure many ideas pop to mind with that name but yes it’s a battle royal but with pirate ships yes that’s right you read that right pirate ships let’s talk more about it.
First i wanna thank primaldev games for sending me a key thank you guys you rock. Now about this sweet little indie game if you know the battle royals genre then you will fit perfectly here this game puts you on a pirate ship or ships if you have team mates least I think I can’t try that part and then sets you free on the map, now the map is a nice decent size the storm well you wanna stay ahead of get wrecked fast, now on the mini map you will see small yellow dots and you reach those dots you either find barrels or crates the barrels offer different type of ammunition to use from a fire bomb to a big bomb and last the chain bomb to slow ships down the crates offer heals so you can survive longer.
The game offers a good control near your aim marker there’s a bar that fills up if it’s full you fire a full barrage of cannon balls if it’s not well it’s single shot so play smart so you can take full advantage the healing is a risk factor as the ship will stop if u try to fully heal so again make it count the storm hits you hard and since there ships you wanna stay ahead of the storm the upper left corner of the interface shows you your kills and how many players are left which is very helpful.
All in all Rum N Gold Royale is a fun indie that adds a new concept to an already saturated genre and does it really good there’s new ships to buy as well as sails flags and designs for your sails the games available now on steam and is definitely worth playing thank you guys for stopping by have a great day and game on
World of Warships
So I’ve been playing wargaming free to play world of warship and so far my journey has been good.
So if anyone has played world of tanks then you know what the game is then, except it’s on water, your pitted in matches of 15vs15 navel combat with some spectacular looking vessels floating in the ocean.
The difficulty in the game I feel is determined by the ship you use, my favorite ship to use is a cruiser from the usa branch of the military and when I’m playing as a cruiser I’m put into cruiser only lobbies, I have 1 battleship and I can tell you those lobbies are hell I’m lucky if I get any damage or kills in battle so, so far that’s my thought on the difficulty of online battles but with more time I will find out more info
Now the game has a lot you can buy resource wise and even some high tier ships but me I’m old fashioned and willing to deal with a slow grind if it means I learn more and get better as I go along.
I will do another post as I learn more about the game but so far I feel the game is quite enjoyable and deserves a chance for those willing to try it out.
Also I apologize about not posting yesterday monday with the current pandemic my days are starting to blur together and the lack of sleep doesnt help one bit I hope your all staying safe out there and thank you for stopping by game on
