Hello everyone hows it going? Today i wanna talk to you about Yar Forgotten Throne for the PS5 but first i wanna thank the team at Axyos Games Entertainment for sending me a copy of the game its greatly appreciated.
Now I dont get to play many single player games since many anymore use the souls formula so its hard for me to find a game I can just enjoy but then Yar was brought to my attention when the devs sent me a key so I decided to give it a shot and see whats going on.
In this game you set out a nobody looking to help the world from a great evil that has returned, so yeah pretty generic story loop good vs evil so when you start out you wash up on the shore near a small cabin this is where the game starts your tutorial now i am all for tutorials teaching players how to play and what buttons do what but I also hate when your forced to finish the tutorial and cant progress until its done but onwards.
After the tutorial I went exploring found some combat in the form of goblins and boars the combat was nothing spectacular honestly the camera movement felt sluggish as well then when you found people the damn cursor you get was horrendous it felt like I was back at my computer using a janky mouse couldn’t line up things right off the bat kept struggling why though when they coulda just made it snap and scroll like other games on consoles do this was a big turn off considering its used in every part of your inventory making the smallest of actions more time consuming.
Then came more combat against insects where you simply cant just fight them no you have to find xy and z to be able to fight im sorry I dont wanna have to find 6 other things just to kill one bug.
Honestly I did not enjoy this game at all and I cant recommend it the game feels like it needed more work and polish cause if I wanted this much stress I would just go play skyrim instead thank you all for stopping by take care and game on.
