Marathon Server Slam

So yesterday was the first day to bungies new game Marathon and there server slam. I went in with some buddies to test it out and here are my initial thoughts.

The design in the menus definitely didnt like it gave me a headache looking at it i felt like I was watching an old Vhs movie the colors didnt help at all either.

The User interface needs work everything was so confusing and I felt everything blended in you have one menu option on the bottom left the other on the top right then in the middle left like god damn pick one spot and leave it at that fuck sakes.

The items are even more confusing since there mainly just different colors and while your in combat you dont really get a chance to read what shit is so you know what you need.

The pvp was very lackluster in the whole time i was playing we only came across 4 pvp battles and I felt that wasnt nearly enough.

The weapons were fun and the movement was ok. I know this was just the first day but these are my thoughts ill keep you posted as the server slam progresses

Cult of the Lamb nintendo switch version

So ive been playing cult of the lamb on the nintendo switch and I gotta say the game has been a total blast.

For those that havent played or heard of it your a lamb thats sacrificed to prevent a great evil from happening except that by sacrificing you your brought face to face with the great evil who gives you power so you can start a new cult and bring him back to life.

Now this game has a lot of aspects from the dungeon crawling to building up the cult you always have something to do in the game and honestly it never gets old, from rituals to feast to building beds for your followers the game let’s you be who you want either good or evil its your choice and your not punished for it.

Now the dungeon aspect of the game I could compare it to moonlighter you have 5 dungeons each one needing to be beaten a few times in order to unlock the next one and so on but you also find people that help you along the way as well as new followers to worship you as you progress keep in mind each door has to be beaten 4 times on the 4th run you reach the final boss destroy him and unlock the chains on the final door but of course people wanna see you fail and will do stuff in order for you to fail.

Keeping your followers happy is huge and can be done between dungeon runs you clean up after them cook them food perform rituals and so one and the fact is your followers are adorable little animals in your lamb kingdom.

Ive never had so much fun with a game ive spent plenty of time just chilling with my followers making things better for them so they in turn can help me with upgrades and progression.

Cult of the lamb offers you a lot to do so your never bored and it runs great on the nintendo switch other then some small lag spikes and some loading times feel a bit longer the switch plays it like a champ and is the perfect handheld for cult of the lamb, there’s also plenty of dlc available which I havent gotten to purchase any as ive wanted to beat the base game so if you want a fun adventure with lots to do check out cult of the lamb its available on all consoles and pc through steam thank you all take care and game on

Romeo is a Dead Man

Hello everyone hows it going today I wanna talk to you about a game ive been enjoying my time with called Romeo is a dead man but first huge thank you to GrassHopper Manufacture Inc for sending me the game its greatly appreciated so let’s dive in.

The game puts you into the shoes of main protagonist Romeo Stargazer ok right off the bat killer last name like damn the name alone screams this dude has a story so let’s try and talk about it. Again your Romeo a guy from a quiet town in Pennsylvania where our game starts us off you see hes out on patrol one night just talking with his partner when they encounter a body in the middle of the road that body turns out to be a white devil a monster that attacks Romeo essentially killing him and starting us out on our insane fucked up journey.

What is our journey well after Romeo dies hes saved by his grandfather using some future tech shortly after the space time continuum is fractured and everything goes into chaos you find out the girl of your dreams is somehow connected to it so you end up joining a special unit of the FBI that handles space time issues so you set out.

The game does a wonderful job with the intro telling you about the different evil people you come across at first and of course ending them along the way until it drops you in chapter 1 which I guess you could call it the tutorial chapter there you learn about everything the game has to offer now I played on pc and honestly between how much you have to memorize of the keyboard layout and the weird inputs I ended up just grabbing a controller and switching which might be the better option honestly.

So chapter one takes place in a weird forest you make your way through killing random zombies oh yeah the game is a zombie game I wish I had known that when I got it cause im not a fan of zombies games at all but I managed to push through we reach our first puzzle area where the game drops you in and out of sub space thankfully there so far you find no enemies and its all just different paths and puzzles to figure out once your done though your dropped back into regular space or time or at least what’s not sub space and you progress chapter one finishes with you finding Juliet well not your version but a random time criminal version and you know there’s a fight coming and boy is there a fight as this chick transforms into this ugly ass headless abomination thats the size of a 2 story house so let the boss fight commence.

The boss fight is straight forward take down the massive health bar by hitting the boss with combos and gun shots each boss has a weak spot in the form of a blue flower keep shooting it and eventually it explodes and does massive damage.

After the boss fight chapter 1 ends short and simple your then brought aboard the FBI ship where you will be spending a good amount of game time when your not out looking for bad guys to fight and there’s a lot to learn in this ship and learn you will as you meet new people learn new things and save your progress.

Romeo is a dead man offers its own unique take to the zombie genre and its well done the story is interesting the combat is smooth and the game has a lot to discover and unlock the game is divided into chapters and they dont feel overwhelming the game has 3 difficulties to choose from so your adventure is set to your own style do you want easy for story or hard for combat you pick.

During my time playing the game I didnt encounter any issues its ran smoothly on my pc and felt great with both mouse and keyboard as well as controller I cant wait to see what’s next for Romeo and the devs at GrassHopper thank you all for stopping by take care and game on

Ardenfall Demo

Hello everyone today I wanna talk to you about the Ardenfall demo that I got to check out and enjoy so come along for the ride and let’s dive in

First off its a fantasy rpg so if you have played games like the elden scrolls you will fit right in as this game i feel uses those games as a huge inspiration. The demo gave me about 83 minutes of play time between all the reading and adventuring.

So the game starts you with a story of a horrible storm sending you off course crashing to an island you wake up and the first thing you do is create a character which has some great selections to it. And then once completed you wake up on a beach with another npc that tells you what happened and how to proceed.

From the beach you find a cave and off you go to start your adventure the combat that I experienced in the cave was great it felt smooth but a bit delayed at times but nothing that I couldn’t deal with once you reach the end of the cave your at your first village of Bisawa where people do not take kindly to you but its where you get your first real mission but I wont spoil it.

You get a giant number bar for your weapons and spell a total of 9 different items can be equipped which is bad ass honestly giving you plenty of variety.

Even tho the demo was short this game has huge potential and I cant wait to see more of it I hope it releases soon head over to steam and check it out thank you for stopping by take care and game on.

Orwell Keeping an eye on you Nintendo Switch version

First off huge thanks to osmotic studios for sending me the game its greatly appreciated so let’s uh dive in shall we.

So the game is called orwell keeping an eye on you, its a political sim but man some of it feels like this shit is going on in real life and its the first game ive played were its left me feeling like what the actual fuck did I play.

So you start out by making your character your called the Investigator you control the narrative of the story and basically guide everything that happens to an extent.

You see the point of orwell is its a surveillance program that monitors bits and pieces of information to make a profile about you and judge if your dangerous or not and that in itself is the biggest flaw as it runs on bits of info not massive chunks you could say something out of anger and rage and boom the program now considers you a threat and puts you on a watch list.
The game opens up with an explosion at a plaza and a women getting onto a bus and this is where we start your advisor talks you through the basic what to gather how to make a profile a detective your making your profiles and cases and you start adding info and it adds up to the bigger picture soon your singular profile turns into something else a bigger threat more people involved its a slippery slope that spirals fast and this program only gets worse as you progress in the story.

You see now that you have 1 or 2 profiles going you start invading there privacy there public profiles there blogs eventually there emails and texts messages until your literally going through there computers checking there bank statements and job history you see orwell sees everything and finds what it needs to make the case against you even bigger but the flaw lays in the Investigator you see you the player adds the data the advisor tells you more info about it if its useful or to watch it if its shit so the whole time this investigation isnt being done by a full team no to avoid any issues its all down to 2 people the advisor and you the player.

Orwell evolves as you go and the story of this game honestly is insane and one i can say you must experience for yourself and the way this game pushes so close to something that could probably be real is just unreal.

Orwell keeping an eye on you is an episodic adventure of 5 episodes to progress through getting deeper and crazier as you progress not once did I ever fully grasp the drama that I was creating everything you experience feels real the devs did an amazing job with drawing you in and not letting you go until the end and all I can say is holy fuck what a game truly one that needs to be experienced as my words dont do it justice I played on the nintendo switch this game felt perfect for it and i cant wait to see what the devs have in store for us next. Thank you for stopping by take care and game on

Echoes of Elysium

Hello everyone today we dive into a new game that recently released called Echoes of Elysium but first massive thank you to Loric Games and Snail Games for sending me a copy its greatly appreciated so let’s dive in.

So echoes of elysium takes place in Greek mythology your people have disappeared and there’s no one left the gods have cut off access to your realm and you wake up alone what could be the last survivor of your people great story concept adds plenty of mystery and definitely makes me question what happened to my people after the cut scene of the game telling you all this your dropped into the game.

And when I mean dropped I do mean literally dropped theres no tutorial which for a game that calls itself a survival crafter game there should definitely be a tutorial I dont mind learning some stuff but the fact im going in blind and have to learn everything huge issue for me and not a fan of it honestly.

Whatever spirit or goddess finds you tells you your still being hunter to craft a ship and find the closest light house ok cool so you can give me a mission but you cant tell me how to build or anything nope I dont like that one bit and the area you start in is small and barely has any resources to farm now mind you that there’s resources floating in bubbles all around you that you can grab but the game gives you no info on how to do that it doesn’t even offer you a movement tutorial and you need one considering you have some mythical jet pack to fly around with that honestly dies faster then just flying with wings.

And this was all in the first 5 minutes of the game I know not off to a great start but let’s continue as I progress and figured stuff out I manage to expand my ship with much annoyance and find said light house where I have to fight a robot with no weapon cause I dont have the right materials to make one go figure but that robot went down and I had a small base of operations after which I looked around and admired the area and surrounding which let’s be honest its a beautiful game it really is the reason you need a ship and jetpack is cause during the cutscene it tells you how all the islands started floating away and now there in the sky so your a mythical flying pirate captain lmao (laughing my ass off) which is pretty cool.

Visually the game is stunning the ship doesn’t look half bad after you get it to a good enough size but there’s a lot to craft and learn if you wanna be viable after trying it by myself for a bit I jumped on with a friend who wasnt having a great play time as he was finding bugs left and right many which the devs already know of and are working fast on fixing which huge shout out to the devs for being on top of there game.

Now for multiplayer I had a blast playing with my friend I didnt experience as many problems as he did but the ones we experienced together are a bit game breaking for example there’s the issue with npc respawns happening almost immediately after there killed as well as one of the robot birds despawning right as there about to be killed now the devs know about these issues there discord has been active non stop with people reporting bugs and the devs talking about it the game has gotten a big update to help and the devs are still hard at work my experience aside this game is worth it and being part of the journey and the fix makes me feel good about myself as a gamer and I know these devs appreciate all the feed back and help there getting the constant updates to fix stuff shows that even though they may have missed stuff during development doesn’t mean there moving on there fixing everything and showing us gamers they mean business.

This game is in early access you can wait a bit for more updates or pick it up and help the devs out on there journey either way echoes of elysium is a fun game with awesome crafting and some intense flying thank you for stopping by take care and game on.

Rouge Night

Hello everyone today I wanna talk to you about a sweet little indie game called Rouge Night but first huge thank you to Grey November Games for sending me a copy its greatly appreciated it now let’s dive in.

The first issue i had with the game was a bit game breaking I opened a cave door and everytime I went in the game crashed on me I reported it to the devs on there discord as another player had the same issue they told me to give them some time which I did the next date an update went live for the game fixing the door that really impressed me the devs were quick responsive and didnt brush me off they made me feel like my worth as a player was worth more then gold and it felt awesome another time i was experiencing lag and crashing talked to the devs again and after some back and forth they were able to recreate the issues and send out a fix this is how devs keep gamers by talking and showing up for them and I for one will definitely stay, now the reason I started with this is cause I wanna show gamers out there that devs do listen.

Those are  literally the only issue’s ive had with the game which is an rougelike sandbox open world survival crafting and ima throw in rpg cause you do missions lol but yeah you start the game and talk to a spirit fox which guides you with your missions telling you where to go you make your way out of a forest to this castle city thats in ruins as the zombies destroy everything, now im not a huge fan of zombies I hate horror games but I gave this one a shot the graphic style didnt make anything over scary like in an actual horror game on the contrary the zombies looked adorable and made me wanna fight them all even more.

The game offers a good variety of weapons from a sword to daggers to a spear and great sword and everything else the game offers cant spoil it all. Most weapons are found on enemies or on the ground so make sure you fight alot cause you will need to.The map is big and there’s lots to explore and plenty of missions to do i think there were 8 pages of missions but im sure more will be added down the line.

You also get to build a house where survivors you find will gather yes there’s other living people in the game thankfully, I did realize that when you die you lose everything and restart over I havent had a chance to ask about that so ill update if I get to ask.  there’s also some pretty intense bosses as well first one I found was a giant spider and boy do I hate spiders.

This game is fun its simple its not very demanding or taxing on your system and honestly it deserves more eyes on it I cant wait to see how the game turns out and what more they add to it thank you all for stopping by take care and game on.
